About the tour

The Canberra Wine Tour is a terrific full day tour, not only because of the magnificent wines you’ll taste and have the opportunity to buy, at a raft of cellar doors, but also for the beautiful countryside through Canberra’s wine region. These are real rural landscapes of Australia and many of our international visitors are often blown away with the beauty.

With Shiraz the flagship for reds and Riesling the flagship for whites in the Cool Climate Wine Region, as well as a multitude of other varieties; viognier, pinot noir, and cabernet, distinguished wine aficionados and novices alike are sure to find something to their taste.

Sample tour itinerary

  1. 09:30 am - Begin Canberra Wine Tour

    We start with customer pickups at major Canberra hotels and motels. For visitors from outside town, we pickup at the Jolimont Bus Centre. We then take an approximately half hour journey to the first winery of the day somewhere to the north of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory.

  4. Lunch

    We get to enjoy some lunch at the cosy Murrumbateman Inn (which serves bistro style food) before some more wine after lunch.

  7. Arrive back in Canberra

    The Canberra Wine Tour concludes in Canberra with drop off to major hotels & motel chains.

    Neil was absolutley amazing. There was some issues with external wineries not honoring the booking for our hens night. Neil adapted and professionally and tactfully reorganised the day on the spot, working an extra 2 hrs after the intended schedual to give us a fabulous time. He was accomodating, fun and wonderful to us. The bus was comfortable and the venues we visited were fabulous. Would reccomend Neil and his service to anyone and everyone.

What wineries will we visit?

Depending on the schedules booked, the tour itinerary includes visits to four to six wineries, typically with their own wine tasting menus. We may change the venues due to operational reasons, but the experience will always be of the same quality.

Can I buy wine on the day?

Yes. In fact, we encourage you to as doing so supports the local and independent wineries in the area.

Most producers are naturally very happy to sell bottles to visitors.

Some wineries, but certainly not all, can arrange shipping.

Is there room on the bus to store any wine I buy?

Yes, there will be room to store your wine purchases within reason of course.

What about winery tasting fees?

All wine tasting fees are included in the tour price.

How long will we spend at each winery?

There is no set time. It will depend on the size of the tour group and the wineries themselves, but the average time spent is about an hour at each winery.

Do I have to be a wine expert?

Absolutely not. You don’t need to know a lot about wine to enjoy a Canberra Wine Tour. Whether you are a wine newbie or a sommelier, the tour will be just as fun and valuable, regardless. Everyone goes on a wine tour to learn about wine, or to learn more about wine.
