The team at Canberra Guided Tours is passionate about providing expert guided tours in and around Australia’s National Capital. We first began this venture back in 1961, and are now the longest-operating tour company in the ACT. Each of our team members and tour guides takes great pride in having strong connections to our roots, having been born in, living, or working in Canberra for most of our lives.
Our pioneering operators, Mary and Jack Dando gave visitors a memorable experience in the Nation’s Capital in the 1960s. The main attractions in the city were slightly different then and were all linked together by a bridge that went over the Molonglo River, now known as Lake Burley Griffin.
A lot has happened since we opened our doors on that fateful day in 1961. Today, Canberra has evolved into a thriving hub for travellers and adventure seekers, and our team couldn’t be more delighted to continue Mary and Jack’s legacy.

A scientist by background, Neil has lived in Canberra for over 50 years and has decades of experience in the tourism industry having owned and operated award-winning tour businesses at Uluru and Kakadu in the Northern Territory.
Neil also has extensive experience as a senior national park and wildlife ranger and ornithologist, turning his talents into carefully curated tour experiences that are both educational and fun! He also conducts bird watching tours and Kangaroos and Koalas safaris, which you can find on his personal website.
